In this position, you will lead both the short and long term global footwear innovation efforts for the FJ brand. Deliver new products and/or components that will drive footwear sales in support of worldwide P&L objectives and long term strategic plans. Manage the process of new concept, component, and process development. Partner with the development and design teams to deliver end products that are in line with the strategic vision of the brand. Manage the research of new technologies and materials, which can be implemented to enhance FJ’s performance and technically based footwear products. Travel in search of new and innovative ideas, materials, components, etc. Evaluate, prototype, and communicate findings to the footwear teams. Effectively communicate the innovation roadmap to all relevant footwear departments. Attend sales meetings, product development meetings, and/or FJ trade shows to assist with new product presentations.
BA/BS degree is required. A minimum 6 years of experience in the athletic footwear industry with an expert knowledge of the product development process (construction, technology, manufacturing, sourcing, etc.). This position will require minor physical demands in the form of lifting and carrying shoes/shoe boxes. Frequent travel, both domestic and international. Strong computer skills helpful (MS office, PDM/PLM, CAD engineering, Illustrator, Photoshop).
