With some supervision, this individual is responsible for for supporting the design, fabrication, maintenance, and calibration of electro-mechanical devices employed by Golf Ball R&D. Helps to develop and implement periodic maintenance and calibration plans. Must apply knowledge of mechanical design practices, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical power, electronic control, and sensor systems to design new devices, build and modify control panels and wiring and maintain existing equipment. Must posses and apply communication and documentation skills: Generation of notebooks and Invention Records are required. Develops CAD drawings, PLC programs, electrical schematics and wiring diagrams, logic diagrams, reports, and presentations. Must include the ability to effectively utilize database information/data handling systems. Executes projects. May be asked to organize team efforts. Will occasionally communicate with vendors. Helps to develop procurement specifications. Provides operator training. Develops and maintains operations manuals. Must have knowledge of OSHA regulations and design ergonomics in order to support the development of equipment which is compliant with applicable regulations and provides for operator comfort and safety. Support the design and development of electro-mechanical systems. Generate invention records and associated legal documentation required to acquire IP. Maintain notebook records. Provide operator training. Develop and execute periodic maintenance and calibration plans. Provides equipment repair services on an “on call” basis. Plan and execute R&D tests. Develop test reports. Communicate with vendors. Develop procurement specification. Manage capital procurement projects. Participate in regulatory compliance programs. Obtain regulatory training, procure PPE. Participate in R&D safety process.
Technical trade expertise (licensed where applicable) or 2 year technical degree. Must have a minimum of 4 years experience developing and maintaining electro-mechanical devices, PLC programming and panel design. Must be experienced in the use of AutoCAD. Must not be affected by materials in a laboratory, manufacturing, or golf environment. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds. Normal or corrected vision, including color. Must pass all Health Services testing requirements for this position
