Responsible for finished goods forecasting, supply planning (MRP) and inventory management. Responsible for the management of domestic inventory levels and purchases for all footwear and related accessories finished goods ($50 million in annual spend with average inventory of $20 million). Lead all communication with footwear factory, related to finished goods purchase planning, including those related to ex-US markets. Initiate and participate in projects that improve footwear forecast accuracy and inventory management. Responsible for systems and data required to support forecasting, procurement and inventory management of footwear and footwear accessories. Areas of focus include maintaining appropriate spreadsheets and databases, keeping current with adjustments to business plan, forecasting calendar year inventory levels, and the adoption, maintenance and interpretation of trend analysis from machine learning algorithms. Conduct monthly forecast meeting and communicate forecast, availability and inventory information to external and internal customers. Execute all finished goods procurement activities and ensure the process is executed in a fiscally responsible manner. Analyze inventory position and make appropriate decisions to support +90% availability goals for all active SKU’S. Recommend and execute corrective actions and expediting requirements, communicate availability issues, and present obsolete/slow-moving inventory to Director for disposition. Formulate and execute fiscally responsible annual inventory and receipt plans necessary to support the footwear business. Oversee worldwide footwear order and forecast consolidation, production capacity planning and ex-US market analysis as required, including communication with Director to review areas of concern, resulting in follow-up with factory, key suppliers and ex-US markets. Responsible for communication regarding forecast and procurement issues to footwear factory and Taiwan office. Responsible for the ordering and delivery of sales samples and special requests and ensure product and sales management are advised of progress and timing. Support departmental operations in other areas on an as needed basis. Provide guidance and work direction and prioritization to other staff members.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Operations or Supply Chain Planning. MBA preferred. APICS or CPIM certification a plus. Minimum 5 years of experience in demand forecasting, inventory management and procurement supporting the worldwide distribution for consumer packaged goods. Necessary travel to conduct meetings with associates in factories and liaison offices, including areas in Asia and Europe. Requires high level data analysis skills, utilizing MS Excel as a tool. Thorough knowledge of MRP/ERP practices and principles. Attention to detail and problem solving skills are necessary. Must have excellent organizational skills, ability to balance immediate/long term priorities and exceptional multitasking skills. Must have strong written, analytical and verbal communication skills, and attention to detail. Ability to work effectively with all levels within the organization. Must be customer oriented (internal and external).
