Support the Finance Group in the area of Fixed Assets by reporting and analyzing all capital expenditures and by coordinating the capitalization process from project inception and approval, to the capitalization of the fixed asset, to its depreciation and eventual disposal. Manage the capitalization of fixed assets and fixed asset projects, ensuring that they are added to the fixed asset system with adequate information, that they are easily identifiable, and that asset lives are in compliance with Acushnet Company policy. Record all fixed asset disposals, verifying that appropriate approvals have been maintained. Report on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis all fixed asset activity, including construction in progress activity, capitalized asset activity, disposals and depreciation. Assist the Finance Department at each month end by creating and entering other journal entries and account analyses, including intercompany profit eliminations. Coordinate project approvals with managers and purchasers to ensure projects contain proper approvals and have been set up correctly in the project management system. Perform monthly review to ensure spending is within budget. Complete additional projects as required, including depreciation projections, various year-end 10K schedules, lease analysis, and quarterly fixed asset audits of Acushnet Company facilities. Record monthly journal entries to depreciate assets in General Ledger.
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required as well as familiarity with depreciation methods and regulations.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant Fixed Asset Accounting or General Accounting experience is required.
- Candidates should have excellent Excel skills, be extremely detail-oriented, and be comfortable communicating with various levels of management.
