Senior Design Engineer/Product Designer /Golf Clubs: Carlsbad, CA.
In a position of minimally supervised design and research, possess and apply broad knowledge of golf club design and computer based modeling tools to complete difficult projects for the Titleist golf club franchise. Conducts and coordinates research and/or design programs to discover and validate product opportunities necessitating the origination and application of new and unique approaches. Consults with management to evaluate project opportunities in an organized manner to align with critical path schedule requirements. Works with appreciable latitude for un-reviewed actions or decisions. Consults with management to define design platform specifications and develops 3-D CAD models with an emphasis on creating difficult technologies and projects necessitating the origination and application of new and unique approaches for next generation Titleist golf clubs. Pursues comprehensive patents in previously unexplored areas by submitting invention records and actively supporting intellectual property efforts. Maintains broad knowledge of state of the art golf club design methods, manufacturing methods, USGA golf club product specification regulations, competitive specifications, patents, and trends. Coordinates and creates engineering and technical documentation to facilitate communication and support to Design, Product Development Engineering, Research, Testing, Suppliers, Manufacturing, Sales and Marketing. Possess and applies broad knowledge of computer based programs to enable communication. Possess and applies broad knowledge of computer based analysis techniques, reverse engineering and digital sculpting tools and to verify design performance and critical variables as well as expedite research and development. Design Engineer / Golf Clubs: Carlsbad, California
In this position the incumbent will primarily design Titleist golf clubs using Unigraphics (UG). They will produce new models/concepts and refine existing models/concepts using a variety of techniques in UG, including surfacing, the sketch application, part families, and other advanced applications within the software. They will integrate Industrial Design Team sketches and internal engineering constructions into the model in UG. Team with Industrial Design and Engineering Staff to generate desired golf club forms, shapes, sculpting, features, artwork, engraving, aesthetics, medallions, secondary inserts, and cosmetics.
The incumbent will develop and/or follow design specifications to generate CAD models. Qualify CAD model integrity through prototyping and pre-production runs. Operate and/or possess knowledge of reverse engineering tools to expedite development and verify golf club models. Operate and/or possess knowledge of digital sculpting tools to expedite modeling. Maintain up to date working knowledge of CAD programs, illustration programs, and spread-sheets for effective communication with designers, suppliers, manufacturing, sales and marketing.
Additionally they will develop standards/templates to facilitate effective communication in accomplishing the product development goals - from concept through to production. Provide inspection forms and procedures. Link CAD model efforts with computer analysis tools for virtual performance analysis. Use computer based analysis techniques for expediting the determination of critical performance variables.
eCommerce Buyer / Planner*: Fairhaven, MA
Responsible for driving overall merchandising planning & reporting (pre-season, in-season, end of season). Ensure adherence to the overall FootJoy eCommerce business plans. The overall goal of this position is to execute strategies to support growth of the direct-to-consumer (eCommerce) channel, with particular focus on optimizing merchandise mix and sell sell-through on the site while balancing overall sales / brand priorities. The buyer will work closely with the planning team to manage the open-to-buy, analyze seasonal merchandise assortments and develop merchandising strategies to drive sales and maximize profitability. Execute buys based on eCommerce sales plans & strategic merchandise plans to maximize sales, sell-thru, margin and inventory turnover. Develop, consolidate and communicate a comprehensive planning strategy that identifies opportunities and risks in all areas of responsibility. Identify and communicate potential inventory liabilities and drive appropriate actions to resolution. Configure ERP (Infor M3 / “AGS”) system templates for all Titleist Gear products. Create both audit and operational reports as requested by business owners. In this position the incumbent will be primarily responsible to perform a wide variety of tasks including Preventative Maintenance, Predictive Maintenance, Troubleshooting, and Repair of complex Computer or PLC controlled manufacturing equipment. Equipment includes electrical/electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical subsystems. Use equipment such as voltmeters, ammeters oscilloscopes, micrometers, thickness gauges, and power tools to trouble shoot and repair equipment. Assist team members as needs and issues arise.
