This position is responsible for front-line Customer Service with Consumers, Accounts and Sales Reps regarding all stock related to Custom Titleist Gear products, programs and availability information. In a position of minimally supervised design and research, possess and apply broad knowledge of golf club design and computer based modeling tools to complete difficult projects for the Titleist golf club franchise. Conducts and coordinates research and/or design programs to discover and validate product opportunities necessitating the origination and application of new and unique approaches. Consults with management to evaluate project opportunities in an organized manner to align with critical path schedule requirements. Works with appreciable latitude for un-reviewed actions or decisions. Pursues comprehensive patents in previously unexplored areas by submitting invention records and actively supporting intellectual property efforts. Design Engineer / Golf Clubs: Carlsbad, California
In this position the incumbent will primarily design Titleist golf clubs using Unigraphics (UG). They will produce new models/concepts and refine existing models/concepts using a variety of techniques in UG, including surfacing, the sketch application, part families, and other advanced applications within the software. They will integrate Industrial Design Team sketches and internal engineering constructions into the model in UG. Team with Industrial Design and Engineering Staff to generate desired golf club forms, shapes, sculpting, features, artwork, engraving, aesthetics, medallions, secondary inserts, and cosmetics.
The incumbent will develop and/or follow design specifications to generate CAD models. Qualify CAD model integrity through prototyping and pre-production runs. Operate and/or possess knowledge of reverse engineering tools to expedite development and verify golf club models. Operate and/or possess knowledge of digital sculpting tools to expedite modeling. Maintain up to date working knowledge of CAD programs, illustration programs, and spread-sheets for effective communication with designers, suppliers, manufacturing, sales and marketing.
Additionally they will develop standards/templates to facilitate effective communication in accomplishing the product development goals - from concept through to production. Provide inspection forms and procedures. Link CAD model efforts with computer analysis tools for virtual performance analysis. Responsible for driving overall merchandising planning & reporting (pre-season, in-season, end of season). Ensure adherence to the overall FootJoy eCommerce business plans. The overall goal of this position is to execute strategies to support growth of the direct-to-consumer (eCommerce) channel, with particular focus on optimizing merchandise mix and sell sell-through on the site while balancing overall sales / brand priorities. The buyer will work closely with the planning team to manage the open-to-buy, analyze seasonal merchandise assortments and develop merchandising strategies to drive sales and maximize profitability. Execute buys based on eCommerce sales plans & strategic merchandise plans to maximize sales, sell-thru, margin and inventory turnover. Develop, consolidate and communicate a comprehensive planning strategy that identifies opportunities and risks in all areas of responsibility. Configure ERP (Infor M3 / “AGS”) system templates for all Titleist Gear products. Create both audit and operational reports as requested by business owners. Configure templates for all finished goods SKUs for Titleist Gear products worldwide. Ensure accuracy in product pricing, product costing, internal work orders and/or external purchase orders. Monitor daily audit reports and AGS Issue Logs and analyze/troubleshoot problems using a combination of tools to include SQL and Cognos. Correct configurations as needed and test to ensure functionality. Work with other departments as required to resolve configuration issues. Maintain a shared product launch database that coordinates the efforts of all departments and offers information about each product. In this position the incumbent will be primarily responsible to perform a wide variety of tasks including Preventative Maintenance, Predictive Maintenance, Troubleshooting, and Repair of complex Computer or PLC controlled manufacturing equipment. Equipment includes electrical/electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical subsystems. Use equipment such as voltmeters, ammeters oscilloscopes, micrometers, thickness gauges, and power tools to trouble shoot and repair equipment. Assist team members as needs and issues arise. Originate and fill out Maintenance Work Orders in a timely manner, including problem statement, corrective actions, parts used, and hours charged. Close Work Orders when work is completed. Perform other related duties as assigned.
