Senior Quality Technician: New Bedford
Acushnet Company, home to the leading brands in golf (Titleist and FootJoy) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quality Technician at one of our state-of-the-art golf ball manufacturing facilities. In this position, you will conduct new product trials, analyze results and make recommendations in support of golf ball manufacturing process improvement projects to improve golf ball quality and productivity. Coordinate efforts of manufacturing personnel as well as test and inspect golf balls, including operation of test machines and equipment. Work with Manufacturing Managers and Team Leaders to coordinate the manufacture of pilot and special run products, assuring proper physical properties, process parameters, good quality and quantities to meet the manufacturing schedule. Conduct independent process evaluations to investigate improvements to manufacturing. Prepare written reports, data summaries, and graphs providing analysis and recommendations to improve the process. Process experimental balls for finished ball testing.

Collaborate in the development of new products with the Scotty Cameron Accessories Manager. Responsibilities throughout all stages of development from the initial design concepts through to the final production, delivery and fulfillment. Manage, monitor and track all vendor communication for each season throughout the development cycle. Maintain extremely accurate and organized written records of development history. Choose appropriate sources for each style with regards to volume, technique, fabrication and cost. Coordinate fabric, and finished good sourcing, development, and approval. Defers to Accessory Manager for final approval and changes to all products. Coordinate color development and approval. Continually look for innovative and unique products, fabrics, and colors that meet the needs of customers. Develop costing sheets for all components and finished product. Initiates Purchase Orders as directed by Product Manager. Anticipate and predict challenges of development, timing of deadlines and production in order to address and avoid delays to the process and calendar while ensuring quality, cost efficient product. Accountable for the timely adherence of calendar dates. Organize the product launch schedule for the entire year, along with meeting the in hand dates of all special projects. Know solutions to problems and follow all situations through to completion, working with appropriate departments and contacts as necessary for resolution. In this position, you will provide a wide range of Human Resource services to internal and external customers while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality and integrity. Administer employment related processes: prepare requisitions and job postings, enter applicants and resumes into the HRIS system, conduct new hire screenings and complete reference and employment verifications, prepare ePANs, conduct new hire orientation. Assist in the resolution of employment issues by being the first point of contact for concerns/questions for benefits administration, new hire processes, payroll, unemployment, FMLA/FMLA process and wellness. Assist in the Staffing process by posting positions (internally and externally), sourcing candidates, evaluate job bids and resumes, schedule interviews, and fill hourly positions. In this role, the incumbent will have primary management responsibility for the support of all sourcing, purchasing, category and supplier management activities for assigned categories in such areas as maintenance, repair, operating supplies, etc. required to support a multi-plant manufacturing operation. The Category Manager will be responsible for an annual spend of up to $30MM and charged with deploying effective and efficient execution of procurement and sourcing plans that are aligned with the strategic objectives of the business both globally and regionally, through a consultative approach with business management and key players in Operations teams. Develop, implement and execute assigned category strategies. This involves but is not limited to developing a set of measurable actions and targets with focus on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). Provide category expertise to internal stakeholders and function as a liaison to Manufacturing and Operations functions for assigned categories. Lead and develop cross functional strategic sourcing teams to address specific opportunities. Direct development and negotiation of agreements with key suppliers. Perform Putter fitting/testing and related assignments for a wide range of players that may include high handicap consumers, better playing amateurs, VIP guests and Tour Players from various elite associations. Fittings/testing at the Scotty Cameron Gallery. As a Cameron Product aficionado, responsible as an adviser to product investors of product attributes and history to ensure an understanding and appreciation of the products value. Conduct Scotty Cameron Putter fitting/educations for high-end consumers, Scotty Cameron Collectors/enthusiasts, PGA, LPGA, Sr.PGA and mini-Tour players as well as college, key amateur and AJGA players. These sessions may contain (but are not to be limited to) optimization of Putter ball performance and their relationship to various Scotty Cameron models, video analysis of the player's set-up and high speed video analysis of the golf ball and putter head using proprietary putter analysis software, comparative analysis of a player's current equipment to the recommended putter as well as changes in their physical putting set-up.
