At the beginning of April, the Dutch Golf Federation (NGF) approached Acushnet Company to create a product to help support the local golf industry. Profits from the sale of the product were to be distributed among the Dutch Golf Courses.
Our team jumped at the chance, proposing a navy blue polo that matched the predominant color in the NGF logo. We also arranged to embroider the NGF logo on the chest and #supportervangolf on the sleeve. The shirts are being made available in men’s, women’s and junior sizes.
“The project has been a huge success,” said Geert Verhees, FootJoy Area Sales Manager, Nederland. “Initial orders were for a few hundred shirts, but it’s been so successful we’ve now supplied over 6,200 polos and sales continue. We are currently busy to see if we can get distribution in more warehouses. We hope to sell several thousand more as golf courses open again.”
Verhees credited Acushnet’s excellent relationship and communication with the NGF, our ability to produce and stock the product and the support of our associates to overwhelmingly exceed the expectations of this project and assist those in need.
