- Hours: Full time position: 40 hours/week
In global business environment with multiple legacy databases and servers, develop new data structures and administer business system databases. Change existing databases by establishing and executing change management procedures. Review system designs for database requirements and review business system designs to ensure efficient database structures. Monitor database performance, perform necessary maintenance and develop documentation describing the organization’s database structures. Administer data warehousing strategies and administer security access for specialized database products. Provide on-call support for production bases and maintain expertise with required database tools.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or Electronics/Electrical Engineering. University coursework must include 20 credit hours or 10 course segments in computer programming/system-related subjects, including by way of examples: mathematics, data structures and algorithms, computer programming, numerical methods, object oriented programming, linear systems, electronic/electric devices/systems/circuits, digital logic circuits and digital signal processing. 30 months of experience as database administrator (or related/alternative job title) to include 30 months in implementation of database objects for business requirements on databases, including triggers, views, functions and stored procedures; creation of databases; deployment of vendor-provided database scripts, changes and configuration; analysis of database performance tuning methods to improve server performance; server installation on production, development and test servers using SQL server versions 2005, 2008, 2008R2 and 2012; use of Configuration Manager, Visual Studio, SQL Server Management Studio, Business Intelligence Development Studio and SQL Server Profiler; provision of technical support for database and software upgrades on SQL servers; troubleshoot production issues and server outages and implement backup and recovery schedules to recover point-in-time data. 6 months experience in Oracle.
