Create new product designs for all aspects of footwear, including outsoles, uppers, insoles, lacing systems, ornaments and logos. Work with the Footwear Team to produce samples and final products for commercialization. Design and assist with development of new golf, dress and casual footwear, including upper designs, outsole designs/engineering and necessary shoe components. Coordinate new specifications for patterns, materials and components with the individuals responsible for product development. Travel to Taiwan Liaison office to work on new design projects with Taiwan Development Team and research new footwear materials and constructions. Communicate design objectives with CAD engineer, evaluate rapid prototypes and manage design iterations on appropriate projects. Conduct research at footwear-related Trade Shows. Evaluate shoe and clothing fashion to determine new trends in styling, color, etc. applicable to golf footwear. Communicate findings to the Footwear Team.
B.S. or BA, preferably in Fine Arts/Industrial Design is required. 3+ years Footwear Design experience with a proven track record of design research, concept creation, comprehensive design rendering and detailing of shoes from initial samples through commercialization. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team atmosphere is a must. This position requires extensive international travel, including trips to Asia. Proficiency in Adobe Design apps required. PLM, CAD and/or 3D design software experience helpful.
