The Manager, Integrated Logistics designs, coordinates, and implements multi-faceted solutions including systems, procedures, and collaboration between internal and external resources to deliver enhanced supply chain value. Enhanced supply chain value is defined as: 1. Lower costs 2. Improved time to market 3. Supply Chain performance transparency 4. Industry leading customer service for both BTB and DTC channels. The Manager- Integrated Logistics will work closely with decision makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions that help minimize global transportation/warehousing spend while meeting all customer service requirements. Position will administer transportation/3PL service contracts and insure vendor performance levels meet agreed service levels. Lead the design, development, and implementation of technology solutions that deliver improved corporate management of inbound/outbound/third party transportation and warehousing expenditures. Coordinate with company logistics managers around the globe in designing and implementing tools that support coordinated product flow that leverages shipping volume to obtain best possible shipping rates. Manage outbound and inbound freight service levels and costs. Develop reporting tools that document carrier performance including; cost per lb, on time delivery, claim count/value, mode optimization, discounted freight program costs. Identify opportunities to improve service and reduce costs by analyzing outbound/inbound data and engaging service providers to deliver custom routing/transport solutions. Lead periodic performance reviews with service provider account managers and Acushnet logistics managers. Manage all Third Party Logistics/Warehousing services contracts. Lead and conduct periodic performance reviews with all service providers. Review carrier/service provider contracts and identify contract changes to drive improvements in efficiency, accuracy and cost savings. Conduct contractual negotiation meetings to implement improvements. Analyze new pricing proposals against existing agreements and lead/conduct cost savings negotiations. Maintain an Acushnet company routing guide and advise internal and external customers/suppliers on the most cost effective shipment method for Acushnet freight. Provide reports on routing guide compliance and cost differential of non-compliance. Conduct periodic meetings with shipping point management teams to review performance and coordinate improvements to routing compliance. Implement routing system updates to both the Acushnet Global System and various warehouse management systems deployed at Acushnet locations. Manage weekly freight cost and revenue performance. Develop, implement, and manage corporate systems for reviewing weekly freight spend and allocation to various general ledger accounts. Coordinate periodic review of Shipping and Handling Charge program with Customer Service Teams and recommend changes/adjustments to program to keep freight revenue in line with corporate sales goals. Continuously monitor program performance and identify root cause for variations to planned revenue. Support Customer Service Team with freight cost/revenue reporting tools. Provide day to day guidance to Transportation/Admin coordinators responsible for freight routing, claim processing, export documentation preparation, freight quotes to internal customers; as well as procurement support for Distribution operations. Insure compliance with company guidelines for export/import activities and Free Trade Zone (FTZ). Provide leadership and guidance to Warranty/Display Warehouse teams. Insure teams meet customer service requirements for accuracy and order processing timeliness. Insure associate safety by holding associates accountable for following established procedures.
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in logistics or supply chain management is required. A Minimum of 5 years experience as a logistics manager within a manufacturing/distribution business is required. A minimum of 3-5 years of experience implementing Transportation Management Systems (TMS) is also required. Experience with negotiating LTL and parcel freight contracts required. Import/Export experience preferred including experience working with Free Trade Zone, Duty Draw Back. Ideal candidate will have worked for or with a 3rd Party Logistics service provider and have experience in negotiating of contractual agreements for 3PL services (freight, warehousing, value added services). Team management experience required. Will be required to work at a computer station for long periods, with occasional need to use stairs. Will require regular trips off site to visit vendors, company locations. Some international travel will be periodically required. Will handle confidential pricing and contract information. Strong working knowledge of TMS, WMS, Excel, Access, and other Microsoft Office products. Systems Project Management experience required. Experience using ERP/WM systems, Manhattan Associates and M3 experience preferred. Ideal candidate will have worked with Cognos business intelligence tools and know how to generate ad hoc reports from data bases. Project leadership experience implementing transportation management system (TMS) in a manufacturing, international environment.
